[30] Thomas Haden obtain 100 acres from Robt. Williams for five shillingsin Spotsyvania County, Virginia.
Spotsyvania County population grew rapidly during the early 1700. Only 3houses had been reported in the area in 1707, by the time Thomas arrivalthere were 350 households and around 700 people living in the county.
Thomas and his family moved a few mile west of Spotsyvania County, thenearest Indians were the Saponap. The region to which Thomas chose tomove was located at the headwaters of Massaponnax Creek and the easternedge of Piedmont Plateau.
